Quito Historical Center and Mitad del Mundo
Quito is the first World Cultural Heritage site declared by UNESCO, and its historical center is considered one of the best preserved of Latin America. We will visit the Basilica of the National Vote, Plaza de la Independencia, and some of its most beautiful churches: el Sagrario, la Compañía de Jesus, and San Francisco de Quito. We will also visit the Panecillo, a statue of the Virgin Mary which overlooks and guards the city. Finally, we will travel to the Middle of the World City Complex and visit the Ethnographic and Intiñán Museums.
Otavalo
The beautiful area of Los Lagos is now a UNESCO World Geopark, thanks to its invaluable geological heritage as part of the inter-Andean region. The tour includes a visit to the Quitsato sundial, a traditional Cayambe biscuit (bizcocho) factory, a visit to Mira Lago, a lengthy stroll around the Otavalo market, a trip to Cuicocha lagoon, and a visit to the famous town of Cotacachi.
Pachijal - Mashpi
A biodiversity hotspot, in Quito’s backyard jewel and it's only a short distance away. This bioregion was declared a UNESCO’s Biosphere Reserve in 2018. Enjoy renowned birdwatching, swimming and hiking in waterfalls, or just relaxing with a coffee on a cozy terrace admiring the breathtaking view.
Cotopaxi National Park
During this tour you will be able to marvel at the imposing beauty of Cotopaxi, one of the highest active volcanoes in the world. You will visit the Mariscal Sucre Interpretation Center, better known as the park museum, and we will then take a hike to the José Rivas Refuge located at 4,864 meters above sea level. You will also visit the Limpiopungo Lagoon, which is located at 3,800 meters of altitude. The day ends with a typical lunch of chugchucaras in the town of Latacunga.
Quilotoa
The amazing turquoise lake is located inside the caldera of an active volcano. During this tour, you will visit the gallery of the painter Julio Toaquiza. You will then head to the Toachi River Canyon and Shalala viewpoints, both with incredible views of the surroundings. A guided walk to the lagoon will allow you to marvel at its beauty from up close.
Baños de Agua Santa
Baños de Agua Santa is located in the province of Tungurahua, only 180km from Quito and 35km from the city of Ambato. The city is very popular among local and international tourists, and it’s situated in a valley filled with waterfalls and hot springs next to the Tungurahua (5,016 meters). The tour includes an immersive day visiting the various waterfalls of the area. You will also visit the famous ‘Swing at the end of the earth’, where you can opt to swing over the beautiful valley below.
